...because I never know how much of what I say is true.

4. I see the present from the future, and the past not very well at all.
5. I was a radical for a while, but it was just a phase.
6. I am emotional and disinterested. I could be a passionate mediator. What a concept!
7. I like simple people. There are so few of them.
8. The analysis of art goes against my religious beliefs.
9. In fact, no one needs religion if they're humble enough to learn from a cat.

HELLO MY NAME IS

Starting this introduction with the letter "I" is impossible, because I don't know who I am. When people ask me "What's your name?" or "Where do you come from?" they tend to get a blank stare while the little office-workers inside the cubicles of my brain go rushing around at top speed to try to deliver the correct information to the mouth ASAP. Simple questions, name and hometown. Most people can answer them without thinking. Not me. My mind starts chasing its tail in an ever-dwindling spiral, smaller and smaller until everything short-circuits and I just throw out the first answer that comes to mind. What comes to mind now? "I'm Jinx. I'm from Quasildor, on Neptune." That'll have to do ya.

The only reason I don't have Multiple-Personality Disorder is that I don't consider it a disorder. It's frustrating sometimes. It gives me something to deal with. It's good to have something to deal with. It keeps my mental muscles limber. I tend to be able to control everybody pretty well. We're a constantly evolving society. Don't look too close. Your microscope might break. Privacy is key, but the keyhole spits it out. I can't figure out whether I prefer to be ignored or to be the center of attention. Perhaps both.

I can't figure out anything about myself. I believe I know less about myself than anyone else on Earth does. Maybe you can teach me. But I don't even know if I'm willing to learn. On even-numbered days, I'll believe everything you say, like a sweet blind half-dead Starchild in the dark forest. Do you love me? It suddenly becomes important to know.

On odd-numbered days, I make a practice of disbelieving myself. Everything I say ought to be taken with a peppercorn. Stand back! I'll defend you from the truth. What's so bad about lying? Lies are the highest art-form, and one that the majority of people get worse at as they grow older. I'm attempting to reverse that tendency. I have this love-hate relationship with Socrates.

Everything tends to work backwards on me. I used to live my life by the Golden Rule, but then I figured out it only works if you're like everyone else. If I treat other people the way I wish to be treated, they get offended or just think I'm weird. I am weird. I am ten times the pope. I am the pope in the hills and the mountains.

I have tried very hard, but I can't believe in good and bad. Those words mean nothing to me. Reality is subjective. I belong to neither the Empiricist or Rationalist branches of philosophy, because I don't believe in knowledge. I love it, though. The philo of sophia. Love of wisdom. Philosophers aren't the wise ones; they're the ones who love wisdom. It's an important differentation.

I don't follow my own rules.

If you want to know more, read my world-famous biography.

I am LJ-married to the cosmic wonder that is [info]wytchcroft, as demonstrated by the official proposal.
